Agriculture The district has immense agriculture potential. It hosted a pineapple canning factory a few decades ago which was rundown. Efforts were being made to resuscitate the factory and so far, 100 hectares of land has been secured by the Industrial Development Corporation for a Multi-Fruit Processing plant along Lunga River. Pineapple farming is undertaken in Kanyama, kanongesha, Kakoma and Sailunga areas and land is also available in these areas to sustain production at commercial levels. Manyinga,Zambezi,Kabompo,Mwinilunga.Kasempa Timber Manufacturing North-Western Province has more than 20 timber Concession license holders, operating as small scale, medium scale and large scale, producing 100, 200 and 500 cubic meters per month respectively. The dominant tree species being exploited is Guibourtia coleosperma (Ross wood) including Brachystegia manga, Afzelia quanzesis, Pterocarpus angolensis to mention a few.

The abundant timber raw material in the province gives the province an opportunity for timber processing or timber manufacturing companies to come and invest, investors shall have abundant raw material to produce wooden finished products such as furniture, floor decking’s and other wooden ornaments or products for local sell and export.
