Solwezi 24 May 2019 ZANIS………Commerce, trade and industry minister, Christopher Yaluma says North western province has massive investment potential which can be exploited to transform the economic agenda ofregion.
Mr. Yaluma said the abundant natural resources in all the 11
districts of the province attract investment which can bring the needed
development to the are.
He told stakeholders in Solwezi last night when he
officially launched the expo North west Zambia 2019 that ministry of
commerce, trade and industry recognises the strength and economic benefits
which expositions bring to the country.
Mr. Yaluma said government will continue to promote private
sector partnerships through platfforms such as expos to take development to all
parts of the country.
He commended traditional leaders in the province for
endorsing the expo adding that their participation in the region’s development
agenda is vital.
Meanwhile, provincial minister Nathaniel Mubukwanu said
people in the area are eager to benefit from the diversity of the natural
resources available in province.
Mr. Mubukwanu said the expo will require wide participation
of all stakeholders in the province and other parts of the country.

have so far provided technical and financial assistance in facilitating for the
And Speaking on behalf of chiefs in the province, senior
chief Kanong’esha of the lunda speaking people of Mwinilunga district thanked
government for initiating the expo saying it will help to exploit the available
natural resources to develop the region.
Senior chief Kanongesha, who is also provincial council of
chiefs chairperson, said traditional leaders in the province are rising to the
occassion and are ready to give land to investors for investment purposes.
He appealed to government to consider including exploration
of oil in Nyakulenga and Chiyengele chiefdom and diamonds in his area on the
list of potential investment areas.
